rhondacrockettFeeling somewhat better about the PhD thang. Not 100% better, but I'm not panicking as much about it.
I need to learn how to get to sleep quicker. I went to bed about 11 last night, and lay awake till after 2. I also need to learn to get up in the mornings again. These past few weeks, I haven't got up till after 11, which, while it means I can skip lunch quite happily and thus work all through the afternoon, is not an ideal start to the day either.
Now, if my stupid psoriasis would settle down for a while, I'd feel better.
No, he would not think I was stupid because I would wow him with my wit, intellect and stores of trivia knowledge!!! Err, then again...
Imagine you're meeting a person for the first time (say, because you and they are the sole survivors of the end of world :D). They don't know anything about you but they want to know as much as they can. Unfortunately you can't tell them. You have to show them who you are by giving them a box of 10 items which represent a part of who you are.
What are your 10 items? (No cheating! You're not allowed to put a diary or LiveJournal, or anything like that in.)
I suppose the no-diaries rule means that my notebooks are ruled out. Damn. Those would perfectly explain me.
1. A copy of "Left of Centre" by Suzanne Vega.
2. My giant Zippy from Rainbow.
3. A dictionary.
4. A thesaurus.
5. An empty hardbacked notebook with a black pen.
6. Can I fit a library into this box? Would a library count as one object?
7. My poster of Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks."
8. The links to Quacker County, and the TNT (where I lurk a lot).
9. The mottoes, "Insanity is like a pair of comfy red slippers," and, "I'm Manic! I have an effect on people!"
10. Copies of SFX and Empire magazine. (Yeah, yeah, I know that that's technically two objects. Maybe if I get a dictionary/thesaurus combined, then I could afford to have both SFX and Empire.)
