Sketchy Sunday 27

Over half-way now!

At least I managed to avoid the dead zombie eyes this week! I do need to work on my eyes; I'm always making them too big and open, and then the noses look too small...
I am really pleased with the woman's hair on Monday-Wednesday. It took me ages to figure out how to represent all the curls and flicks without colouring the whole thing black. I worried for a while that I was going to have to do a sticky label repair job, the way I did for week 23. Her topmost hand is fine but her bottom-most hand is ugh, the fingers are too thick and heavy.
I like the idea of Friday's sketch, although I'm iffy about the execution. My floating water-bender ought to be smaller, to give the right sense of perspective. Still, I'm pleased with the waves at the shoreline; I think I captured them well, considering the limited space and the short amount of time I drew this in.

Date: 2014-07-07 03:11 am (UTC)messiah Poseidonbender! and the waves that are leaping up around him/ her!The lady from Mon - Wed, that right arm is a bit lumpy, the left fingers are kind of manly....but the hair is exquisite and her eyes have soul!
one time my mother told me the people in my drawings had no soul, and as a teen I was at first kind of heartbroken... but it was inspirational as hell, lol, because from then on out I tried to make damn sure my drawings had souls! :)
