Sketchy Sunday 2

In the first half of the week I couldn't settle down to any one sketch and ended up being unhappy with all of them. But I am madly proud of my Cinderella sketch on Thursday, especially the frog and the mice - I managed to get the proportions just right. The coach too, wow, it turned out so much better than I expected when I started. For Friday's drawing, I did want to have her head tilted up and back and also to show her cloak rippling in the wind. I haven't succeeded in either of those but I am pretty happy with the picture as it stands.
I've decided that as the spaces for Saturday and Sunday are so small, I'll just do one big sketch/doodle that uses both spaces. I'll try to draw on a Saturday and then that leaves Sunday free to scan and share. In case you're wondering, for this weekend's sketch, the third little person from the left on the athletic track is supposed to be bent over getting their breath back; I just couldn't get the perspective right. Also the cat - ugh - I've been trying to draw the perfect sitting cat for ages but I can never get the profile of shoulder blades, front legs and haunches right >:/ I do like my shoelace guy, though. I thought the hands would give me problems but they turned out pretty simple really.

I totally get cloak rippling in the wind for Friday! AND there's Mickey Mouse heheh, AND is that kite a pentagram? :D
You do dynamic work, I like that things are happening in the background.

Yes, those are lizards on the right ^.^ The kite's not a pentagram, it just looks like that because of the way the central cross-frame and the strings attached at each corner meet with each other. The Mickey Mouse got all smudged because I kept putting my thumb over the top of him when holding the book open :/

ugh I feel you with the smudging... I didn't notice Mickey being smudged but at a larger size, probably woulda, if you have another sheet of paper to put overtop what you've already drawn, that can protect it from smudgings. Which is something I know but don't always practice. :P

Date: 2014-01-16 06:21 am (UTC)Gorgeous coach. :D You did a brilliant job on it. Seriously my favorite of your doodles this week. :) Also really like the mice with the coach. Cinderella's hair looks so pretty.
And ee, the cat on Sunday is adorable! I think it looks good. Love the facial expression on your cat. Kind of makes me think he's about to get up to go do something. Know that isn't what you intended.

Date: 2014-01-16 11:22 pm (UTC)Errr... are you talking about the thing with the stalk and the tendrils, or the monstrous face that's peeking over the line at the bottom? Either way, I'm afraid the answer's no. Tuesday was one of the days that I couldn't settle on anything and it all ended up a bit of a mess :\ The tendril-y thing... I can't even remember what I meant it to be in the first place.
Thank you for complimenting my cat :) It's nice to know that other people can see things I can't.
Dunno if you saw or not, but I posted a close-up version of the Cinderella in comments here for Eppie, if you want to take a look :)

I did! Loved getting to see the coach more up close and the mice are even cuter. And the frog, loved that one so much. It looks amazing. :D

Date: 2014-01-18 04:18 pm (UTC)...I conveniently forgot until I had the frog drawn that Cinderella doesn't involve frogs at all, ahem #^.^# It's a rat that gets turned into the coachman, mice into horses and the lizards into footmen. Then again, if I'd tried to draw a rat, people would have thought it was just another mouse.
