I sit at a computer all day at work and have no trouble staying alert. But when I have a day at home and sit down to write at my own computer, my eyes quickly get tired and bleary, and I just want to get into bed and go to sleep. What's going on?

You've probably programmed yourself to concentrate and be productive at work, whereas home feels like the place where you should be able to relax. I have a terrible time trying to write at my desk in my bedroom. I don't want to think; I just want to chill out.

If you have a laptop, try taking it somewhere. A coffee shop, a library, outdoors if the weather's nice. Even moving to another room might help. (If you're tethered to a desktop, you can always grab a notebook and pen and try the old-fashioned way, LOL.)

That happened to me at work... I could use the computer at my house for hours but at work? We had these tests we had to pass and all the words just blurred together, my friend had to read everything out loud (and I would give the answer, lol, teamwork!)

Maybe it's the brain protesting... at some point it needs to relax. :P
You need a laptop and a lounge chair and some sunshine, lol!
