Foof, whatever's going on, I hope you're ok and can get back in touch with us soon.
1) Total number of books I own? I've never counted. Shall we just say, "a lot," and leave it at that?
2) The last book I bought? I tend to buy books in bulk. And when I say "bulk", I mean BULK. Last time I book-shopped, I spent over £100 and came away with maybe 20-odd titles. I'm getting used to raised eyebrows at the tills.
3) The last book I read? Sunshine by Robin McKinley.
4) Five books that mean a lot to me: Only five?
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom - true story of a Dutch Christian family hiding Jews in the Second World War. When I finished it the first time, I immediately started re-reading it.
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens - while Great Expectations is my favourite Dickens novel (and yes, Sparky, I do know you hate it lol), I never got a crush on Pip. Sydney Carton, however, is hot.
Girlfriend in a Coma by Douglas Copeland - I don't own a copy of this book (I'm looking to rememdy that situation when I can); I read someone else's copy about 5 years ago. However, the reason it means so much to me is that in my first year at uni, the Dean of my hall of residence promoted this book tirelessy, especially the line about "boiling the carcass of the old order". Consequently, thinking about this book makes me remember all the great times I had at Derryvolgie. Plus it's just a really good book.
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever by Stephen Donaldson - my first adult fantasy series. I've already banged on about how much I love this series in this entry.
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell - my favourite book as a child. I read it about five or six times. I did have my own copy with the most gorgeous cover art, but my sister sent it off to a charity shop *steams* and now of course, that particular copy is out of print *steams some more*.
