Quick question, folks: do you know if taxi/cab drivers pause to make sure their fares actually enter the place that they've taken them to? I'm thinking yes, particularly around hotels, in case of law suits later, but movies and TV tend to show cabs just driving off regardless. Thanks!

pretty much. I've taken cabs various places for various reasons, and the only one that stuck around after I got out was the guy who helped me bring in my luggage when I took a cab home from the train station.
