And now that that's done, some totally gratuitous pet photos.

This is Puss. Otherwise known as Pussy, Puddy, Puddeley, the grand old dam, the auld cat, the auld nyam, the auld gurn. Named by default since she was the only cat we had for years. She's 17; about 80 in human terms. Just two days ago, she gave us a scare when we thought she might have broken her leg. Turned out to be an inflamed bite which was sorted by painkillers and antibiotics.

This is Holly. Holly will crush puny humans!!!

And this is her sister, Ivy. Yes, they are two different cats, not just the same one in different photographs. They can be distinguished in real life by four main means:
a) Ivy is somewhat fatter than Holly and has a fluffier face.
b) Ivy is a lap cat; Holly decidedly not so.
c) Holly likes to lie on the chairs in front of the window; Ivy lies under a chair near the living room/kitchen door.
d) If you turn them upside down, Holly has a white patch between her back legs.
Holly and Ivy were Santa presents for Christmas 2003. Hence the festive names.

And then there are our two dogs. Being not so inclined to pose, I could only find one decent photo of them. The one towards the front with the two white front legs is Sheba; the other is Gyp/Jipp (I spell it the first way, everyone else spells it the other).
Aaaaaand that's all you're getting!
