And more memes

Now I'm fed and watered and in a room which isn't booked for any classes, I have time to catch up on all those memes I've been wanting to do :)
Old, old meme, that the world, his wife, her lover and his dog have done before me.
Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
Shit, I have 129 interests?!
batman - it's Batman. What other explanation do you need?
casanova - the recent BBC series. It had a very yummy David Tennent (new Doctor Who! <3) as a sweetly clueless Casanova, living in a punk-rock 18th century. The guy playing Grimani wasn't half-bad, either *purr*
crushing on fictional characters - because I do.
edward monkton - I found Edward Monkton when shopping for Christmas presents. He does sweet, funny pictures which then get put on mugs and keyrings and stuff.
guitar-based music - I just prefer to listen to music that has guitars, drums and keyboards, rather than samples or synthetic beats.
la femme nikita - satisfies my love of female assassins, secret organisations and already-defeated heroes.
mastermind - because I rarely know any of the answers, and I like quiz shows like that. It's interesting to see the spread of specialist subjects too, from Harry Potter to Test cricket to national flags to obscure composers and painters. I love the variety of other people's interests and areas of knowledge.
not acting 26 - Joanna and Pamela, ex-housemates are to blame for this. They were both 26 when I lived with them, and seemed to think this meant that they had to buy a house/get a better job/be engaged. Their constant harping about mortages, careers and how life is a cycle, and their obsession with property shows made me determined not to be the same way.
second-hand information - this is information you learn about through friends, websites, magazines, TV and movie adaptations, or general pop culture without being directly involved in the area of interest yourself. My knowledge of comic books is largely second-hand, as is all my knowledge of anime. Like with Mastermind, it's the variety of other people that I love.
sydney carton - the hero of A Tale of Two Cities, my second favourite Dickens novel. He's a moody, alcoholic lawyer who is far smarter and better than anyone, including himself, gives him credit for. And I fancy the pants off him.
top gear - for the hilarious banter, and the many interesting ways they've found of smashing up caravans.
watching others play computer-games - because I don't trust myself to be skilfull enough to play them but I want to enjoy the show.
