I cannot get comfortable at this computer! *writhes and adjusts seat height for the billionth time*

Anyway, Eed, I wish there had been food at the "party". I did go; I stayed about half an hour and ran away again. It was just clumps of strangers huddled round tables, looking around like they were scared the next group was going to jump them. I didn't know anyone, and the only drinks on offer were orange juice and some pinky-red alcoholic drink that I didn't know the name of. Bloody Mary? :/ So I poked my head in, looked at some girl's driving license for New York state and went home again.

On the other hand, I discovered that 7 Mount Charles has a bar in it! However, it's for senior employees of Queen's :P I reckon they should put a bar/common room in every house! Now that would be fun :P

And and and! Last night I had a dream with [livejournal.com profile] marzipan9 and [livejournal.com profile] daisydayes in it. The two of you kept merging with each other; in one part of the dream, I was staying with Shelley in her house (which was huge, and warm, and full of wood floors and panels and stuff) and then I was with Daisy and her family. Anyway, in the Shelley part of the dream, you were making me something to eat in the kitchen and I was curled up on top of the kitchen bench because I was really sleepy in the dream. Then you handed me my food, and I was walking into the living room to eat it when a blue angel fish nearly swam into my eye! Yes, you read it right, "swam". See, there was a large fish tank in the living room, and it was connected to this special machine which meant that the fish could "swim" around in the air outside of the tank. There was a puffer fish and some other large brown fish, who stayed close to the side of the tank all the time, but then there was a school of blue angel fish, who had just been released into the tank before I came into the living room, and they were zooming all over the place! They were very pretty but a hazard to everyone's eyes.

Then in the Daisy part of the dream, I was outside in what looked like our garden at home, but what in the dream was the Daisy family garden. It was night and your father and brother were digging in the ground, with a large number of family members gathered around watching them. I was standing a little way off with you and your mother and sisters (I don't know your family in real life, but you had a very large one in my dream). We were waiting on your dad digging up statues of your ancestors because there was an important ceremony that your family had to do. Your dad found the statues at last and brought them over to show me, since I was the stranger and hadn't seen them before. He held out his hands in a cup and they were all dirty and earthy (both his hands and the statues). The statues looked exactly like Russian dolls. They were very prettily painted, with flowers and shawls and little red lips. The whole family was crowding about in silent awe and your dad said in a solemn voice, "These are the statues of our ancestors."

My subconscious comes up with the most bizarre and pretty things.

I just had lunch today with Dee, Pamela and Joanna. It was good to see them again. Poor Pamela is trying to help some man in Egypt with his computer; the system loads but when he clicks something, nothing happens. Joanna has just two assignments to do and she's finished her social work course. And Dee's house is temporarily converting into a bed and breakfast over Christmas, she's got so many people coming to stay at different overlapping times!

In other news, if you need motivation and a pick-me-up, try effervescent Vitamin C tablets. I took one last night when I was all down and grumpy and I perked up immediately :)

Oh, and also the answers to that favourite lyrics meme.
