Oliver is back home and much brighter, though still not walking very far without stopping to rest. It seems that he's had a weak valve in his heart since he was born and it's just now caught up with him. We don't have any medication yet, the vet has to get it in.
In other animal news, there's another cat hanging around our house; it jumped up on the kitchen windowsill and gave Mum the fright of her life this evening! It's a longhaired cat with beautiful tortoiseshell markings, and very friendly - it let me pick it up, no problem - but underneath all the fur, it was very skinny and its coat was badly matted. We tried to put it in our outhouse with some food and a bed but it wouldn't stay inside. :(
We would keep it in a heartbeat but we already have three cats and a dog. Oliver is vulnerable to strange cats, having only three legs and a dicky heart, and Holly would have a nervous breakdown. If it turns up tomorrow, we'll call the Cats Protection League. But how anyone could abandon such a lovely animal is beyond me. D:
